Gestalttherapy is the psychotherapy of the contact. Everybody is a part of his/her context, like family, work, friends. If the contact with your context has been disturbed and you are unable to restore same, it is often a matter of psychological problems.
In the Gestalt-approach it's not simply the problem itself. It's the way you are experiencing the problem and the meaning it has in your life, and how you are dealing with it, which is the starting point to work with.
The attention is especially focussed on what your senses observe and what you physically perceive.
Using special methods of work based on experience, you will achieve a better balance with your thinking, your emotions and your physical awareness. It's a rather creative process, sometimes painful and confrontive, but also in many cases liberating and moderating.
